Otam Yachts has unveiled the new Otam 85 GTS, an evolution on the Otam 58 HT which produced motor yacht CRAZY TOO, tender to the 50m/164ft superyacht CRAZY ME from Heesen and the Otam 80 HT hulls MILLENNIUM, MR. BROWN and MYSTERE, which can reach a top speed of 50 knots.
The latest edition from the Italian shipyard boasts interior and exterior styling from French architect Joseph Dirand and was sold in May this year with a delivery date of June 2019.
Matteo Belardinelli, Sales & Communications Manager for Otam, explained how the inspiration for the Otam 85 GTS came about: “The genesis of the 85 GTS began during the Cannes Yachting Festival last year. We were presenting the OTAM 80, which attracted a lot of attention for its performance and the fact that it has a second full-beam master suite amidships. Several clients came to me and expressed interest in a slightly larger version of the yacht, which provided the starting point for our R&D.”
Otam 85 render
The gullwing doors take inspiration from supercar styling and an originally aggressive design was toned down for a more svelte and curving appearance. The foredeck and aft cockpit both provide guests with ample sun lounging potential and an open transom connects with the sea. The most striking feature however is her two massive en-suite cabins located forward and amidships, essentially providing guests with two Master suites in addition to a salon/dining space opposite the galley. Two crew berths accessed independently from the guest entrance for greater privacy.
The Otam 85 is also powered for performance and contains twin MTU 2,600 HP engines and Arneson Drives for a cruising speed of 38 knots and a top speed of 45 knots.
Currently, the GRP hull and deck have been laminated and interior fitting is due to start shortly in preparation for her June 2019 delivery date.

Lynx Yachts has announced their latest project: Superyacht LOV 38, a 37.2m/121ft collaboration with Omega Architects and Van Oossanen, as represented in the project’s initials.
Superyacht LOV 38
A Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) developed by Van Oossanen naval architects provides efficiency while cruising long distances. The exterior styling also from Van Oossanen has a muscular modern look with continuing horizontal lines from the vertical bow to the stern, and the white hull and superstructure are only interrupted by black-tinted full-height windows that create a seamless effect along the sides.
Motor yacht LOV 38
The skylounge offers panoramic 180 views and a generous upper deck aft area connecting up to the sundeck for even more alfresco relaxation areas for large group gatherings. The foredeck area places a long row of sunpads in front of the bridge which create the perfect area to dry off after soaking in the forward Jacuzzi.
Below, the Master suite will be positioned forward on the main deck, allowing for a full-beam interior with excellent natural lighting while using the office, vanity room, dressing room and en-suite bathroom.
The lower deck double cabins are also designed to have excellent natural lighting provided by three large windows along the hull. To the stern, the tender garage will connect to a large swim platform to provide guests with plenty of room to sunbathe or prepare for an afternoon of fun with the water toys.
LOV 38 luxury yacht design
The layout can be customised to the Owner’s wishes, with a 12-guest layout designed for use as a luxury charter yacht and an 8-10 layout for family groups.
Icon Yachts has given a preview of the ICON 280 superyacht to a select group of visitors as the hull and superstructure have been joined and work continues.
ICON 280 – Icon Yachts
The shaping is remarkably similar to the ICON 250, a 76.2m/250ft luxury vessel designed by Tim Heywood which was originally announced as one of two projects that Icon Yachts would be working on. Images show a massive five decks of guest facilities with the main deck aft alone providing an array of sunbathing and lounging options with a seamless connection to the main salon interior.
Watch the video of ICON 280:
Once completed, the ICON 280 main deck aft will be fitted with a generous swimming pool likely having an infinity edge as well as a waterfall flowing from the upper deck, as per the Tim Heywood concept design.
Due to the additional area given to the upper deck forward, this area will likely become a private terrace for a Master suite, connecting onto the spacious bow. The sundeck layout provides an interior space, resulting in a separation between the forward and aft relaxation areas.
Icon Yachts recently announced that their facilities will be expanding with a new floating dock measuring 130m/426ft to facilitate ever larger refits of superyachts up to the mega yacht category.
